Sir Alex Ferguson criticises Manchester United

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has criticised his club after they dropped out of the FA Cup because League One side Leeds beat them. Sir Alex said that their opponents had deserved to win with a 1-0 victory score because his side's performance was "shocking." However, whilst he blamed his team for not playing well, he also said that not enough injury time was allowed and thought that five minutes was insulting to all involved in the match.

67-year-old Ferguson was critical of referee Chris Foy's timekeeping and called it "an insult." Sir Alex has complained about referees before and has already got into trouble for doing so and was handed a two-match suspension this season for another incident in which he found fault with the ref. Ferguson had made comments about referee Alan Wiley's fitness but the Football Association did not agree with the behaviour of the Manchester United boss and gave him a ban and a fine of £20,000.
