Projecting Sam Bradford in the NFL Draft

Sam Bradford wore his maroon jersey proud while he was an Oklahoma Sooner. Being a Heisman Trophy winner and a good guy should be able to make him very marketable for any person that drafts him in the 2010 NFL draft.

Bradford often battled with Colt McCoy of Texas for the best quarterback ratings in the Big 12 conference. If he did not get hurt I would say he would be a lock for the top five, but many are now doubting if his shoulder is healthy and whether he is going to have injuries problems his whole career.

I would play him around the top 15 right now. I am not sure which quarterbacks I would take higher, if any, but it is so important to draft quality linemen and linebackers that a QB may not go too high in this year's NFL draft. I also think that Colt McCoy or Jimmy Clausen could get drafted before him, but I would say they would be in that top 15 range too.

It is hard to say how all the chips will fall before the combine stats are released this spring. Many guys will really help or hurt their draft status depending on how they perform in the drills. Sam Bradford appears to have the arm strength and accuracy needed to make it at the next level. The real question will be can he avoid the injury bug that could really shorten his career as a good NFL quarterback. Only time will tell.
