Clarets eye O'Driscoll

The Clarets are searching for Owen Coyle's replacement as manager following his move to local rivals Bolton Wanderers. Now, having considered their options, the Premier League club have made a move to appoint the highly-rated O'Driscoll. The Doncaster boss joined the South Yorkshire side in 2006 from Bournemouth and he led them to the Championship after winning the League One play-off final against Leeds in 2008.

O'Driscoll is now believed to be in Lancashire holding talks with the Clarets, and they are confident of appointing him as manager. Sky Sports News understands that O'Driscoll is also planning to bring in his No.2 Richard O'Kelly - who was taking training with Doncaster on Tuesday. There have also been reports that former Sheffield Wednesday boss Brian Laws, who started his playing career at Turf Moor, has been interviewed for the position.
